Molly G. Simmons Brusick LCAT, ATR-BC, a textile artist and licensed, board-certified art therapist, was born and raised in Washington, DC. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her dog, Pearl, after calling New York City home since 2008. Molly moved to NYC following her graduation from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2008. In Spring 2022, she earned a Master's in Creative Arts Therapy (MPS) from Pratt Institute, graduating with honors and distinction and receiving the Excellence in Academic Achievement award. Prior to her graduate studies, Molly taught arts and crafts workshops throughout the NYC area, and spent over 8 years as a teaching artist and arts workshop instructor within local schools and communities.
As a creative arts therapist with a background in fine arts, Molly has an extensive knowledge and understanding of various art mediums and techniques. Along with her interest and excitement in the growth of art therapy field and it’s potential to enhance trauma healing, Molly is a invested provider who spends time outside of the therapy session continuously reading and learning to keep informed of research and breakthroughs in mental health and trauma healing research.
